Reinforce the frame of your Jeep CJ with these 3/16" thick steel plates. Pre-punched holes line up perfectly, and their contour cut to the shape of the frame. Weld them on the outside of the frame and add serious strength to the stock weak design. Available for the front or rear of the Jeep CJ.
Fits 1972-86 Jeep CJ5, CJ6, CJ7, & CJ8
Fits CJ8 but will not extend to the rear crossmember. Won't fit '72-'75.

I understand the front reinforcement plates are semi-flat (plate steel cut to size and bent only to contour the frame bends when placed alongside/ there is no angle section to go on top or bottom of the frame). Are these the same with exception of the shackle hanger part that goes separately on the bottom? I can't tell from the picture but one end seems to have a C-channel part to at least one end.
They are flat plate only, no channel shape

Do I need one set of these for each side of the frame, or will one set do the trick?

They come in pairs and you really only need one for each side.
