2021+ Diesel Gladiator Dual Battery System - Under Hood
Description
Keep your diesel Gladiator powered up without risking your starting battery. This 2021+ Diesel Gladiator Dual Battery System puts a smart Power Hub under the hood and your auxiliary battery under the rear seat, giving you a clean, reliable way to run lights, a winch, fridge, compressor, and more without draining your cranking battery.
Batteries sold separately. This kit is designed to work with a range of popular battery sizes for maximum flexibility.
Power Hub – Clean, Centralized Power Management
The Gen 3 Power Hub mounts under the hood on a dedicated bracket over the fuse box, bringing all of your accessory power connections to one easy-to-access location.
- Integrated bus bars: Connect your accessories directly to the positive and negative bus bars so they draw from the auxiliary battery, not your cranking battery.
- Multiple connection sizes: Three stud sizes (3/8", 5/16", and 1/4") for high-draw accessories like a winch, compressor, stereo amps, and fuse boxes, plus three #10 screws for smaller ring terminals and low-amp circuits such as LED lights.
-
Boost switch control:
- Auto: Automatically connects or disconnects the batteries based on voltage.
- On: Manually links the batteries together like jumper cables to help start the engine.
- Off: Manually separates the batteries.
- G Screen ready: Dedicated port for the optional G Screen Monitoring System – plug in a single cable to monitor system status from the cab.
What’s Included
- Gen 3 Power Hub: Pre-wired, heavy duty smart battery combiner that lets your alternator charge both the cranking and auxiliary batteries.
- Adjustable battery brackets: Designed to hold a wide range of battery sizes under the rear seat.
- Power Hub mount: Bracket to locate the Power Hub over the factory fuse box under the hood.
- GUS storage box: Integrated storage solution that works with the kit layout.
- Complete hardware: All brackets, fasteners, and components required for a clean, bolt-in installation.
How It Works
The heart of the system is a smart battery combiner that automatically manages when the batteries are connected or separated.
- When you start the engine, the system charges the cranking battery first.
- Once the cranking battery reaches the proper voltage, the combiner links the cranking and auxiliary batteries in parallel so the alternator can charge both.
- When system voltage drops below approximately 12.7V for about a minute, the combiner opens and separates the batteries.
Your accessories connected to the bus bars then continue to run from the auxiliary battery only, so you don’t drain the battery you need to start the engine.
Battery Size Options (Aux Battery Under Rear Seat)
Because there’s no room under the hood for an additional battery, this kit keeps the factory batteries in place up front and mounts the new auxiliary battery under the rear seat using adjustable brackets.
- Bracket is designed for batteries approximately 6.8" deep.
- Common compatible sizes include: Group 35, 34R, 27F, 94R.
- The largest recommended size is a Group 31.
Heavy-Duty Cables & Components
- 2 ga welding cable: High strand count, pure copper welding cable for maximum flexibility and conductivity.
- Durable insulation: Thick, abrasion-resistant jacket built for harsh off-road environments.
- Premium lugs: Pure copper, tin-plated lugs for excellent conductivity and corrosion resistance.
- Sealed connections: Extra-thick, adhesive-lined heat shrink seals the cable ends for long-term reliability.
Installation Time
- DIY friendly: If you’re comfortable with hand tools and follow the detailed installation video, plan on about 2–3 hours in a stock vehicle.
- Shop install: Most 4x4 shops typically bill around 2 hours for installation on a stock rig.
- Existing wiring: If you already have aftermarket wiring that needs to be rerouted to the new bus bars or cleaned up, allow additional time.
Compatibility
- Designed specifically for 2021+ Diesel Jeep Gladiator.
- The Power Hub mounts on a new bracket over the factory fuse box under the hood.
- Note: This kit will interfere with any other aftermarket product that uses the space on top of the fuse box.
